Birthdays!

Our family is so lucky because we all have our birthdays in a row. They start with Hannah in Aug. followed by Ben in Sept. Josh gets Oct. and I round out the package with November. Sometimes it can be a headache having all of those birthdays and then all of the MAJOR holidays so close together. But now that we've moved I am so excited to have everything in a row. More excuses to get together with family and friends. This year for Hannah's sixth birthday we were lucky enough to have Nana and Poppy come up to share her special day. Hannah is the oldest grandchild, (she doesn't let anyone forget) and because of that she has a really special bond with her grandparents. It was so nice for them to be able to come up and spend some time alone with the kids. They really had a blast and made some fun memories.

Hannah wanted to plan the WHOLE day for her birthday. She started off with breakfast in bed (with Nana). The she opened a few gifts before we headed over to Seattle for some fun at the Children's Museum. Unfortunately, the museum was closed for the day so we had to come up with a backup plan. We had lunch at a fun place called the Crab pot, rode a carousel, then went to the air museum (yep it made Josh's day). After we finished at the museum we got to meet Josh's sister Kacie and have yummy dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. That is the funnest restaurant. Every few minutes the rainforest has a tropical storm and the animals come to life. The noise, scenery, and food were perfect for our big group. The next day of Hannah's birthday weekend extraordinaire was Sunday. We went to church and then drove over to see Kacie and her boyfriend Adam at his mothers house. We enjoyed a delicious meal, and were able to visit and just "hang out". It was a lot of fun.

Our favorite part of the weekend came on Monday... remember Hannah's birthday is on Labor day weekend? We went and picked blackberries for a few hours and had such a blast. Then we took Nana and Poppy to Harper Pier where we were able to see boats, scuba divers, and people catching crabs. We even found a few of our own sand crabs to catch and play with down on the beach! It was such a relaxing, fun, lazy day.

Of course it was hard to say goodbye to Nana and Poppy when it was time, but with all the birthdays we've got going on in the next few months we know we'll see them soon!
